I have multiple telephone numbers – all of which serves a purpose. You can learn more about your choice in the pages within this section. I will not disclose providers as I want to make number Swapping as hard for the bad actor as possible. With that said, I have a number of ways you can call me.
There is a forwarding number that would ring my cellular and home phone numbers. This is done with purpose, and only a few people have this number. This is to keep the chance of total strangers ringing all of my phones to a minimum. Obviously to assure this, the number is not disclosed to the public.
Cellular communications as the name implies is for cellular communications. My cellular communications can not only handle voice, but RCS, and SMS. At this time, one number is public, but I do reserve the right to change that public provision to private by simply removing the number from my contact information.
Home phone service is as the name implies – a home phone line. This is not a forwarding number, but will legitimately ring my home phone. As of now, I am using an Wifi enabled phone for home communications, but can decide to change that if the phone fails to work. At which point, I will either acquire another Wifi phone, or reuse an old cellular phone as a Wifi phone. If I was to go that second route, it will never be a cellular line.
The voicemail line will either ring once or 4 times depending on the circumstance. Where the old number went to my home phone’s voicemail, this is no longer the case. Instead, a dedicated voicemail for the line will be used. The benefit of this service is that I receive a Pittsburgh local number which is a preferred option, and something I wasn’t able to do with the old service. The voicemail number is also used with domain registries, so that information is essential to keep accurate.
