What’s with the All Phones Number?

The All Phones number is an incoming call only phone number. This means you can call the number, but this number should never show up on the caller ID of a receiving call. The concept is simple. If there was an imperative issue to where the caller was to need to reach out to me, then they could call the All Phones Number to ring my home phone line, as well as my cellular lines. This will allow me to answer the call even if I am not home as both of my cellular phones will ring. If I am home, I will also be able to answer the call on my home phone.

Some people might suggest to use Google Voice, although I had Google Voice at one time, and since they did their “upgrade” years ago, they messed things up. I won’t be able to add my home phone to the simul-ring, and will need an app installed on both of my cellular phones. Also, if Google Voice collects a voicemail message, then that is one more voicemail I will have to check. With this number, my voicemail should be the same as my home phone number. With that being said, it makes sense to sacrifice $6/month for the All Phones Number to ring all of the phone lines. Again, this number will not legitimately show on caller ID. You would still want to keep my cellular and home phone numbers in the contact card you have for me since this will likely be the numbers I will call from.

If there is something you need clarification with, feel free to ask me. Most of the time, phone providers don’t off simul-ring services, so this might be unusual for many people.
