My voicemail number (+1 9144491795) is as the name implies – a voicemail number. I have this number as domain registries requires a telephone number. However, I had too many scam calls for “web design services”, and “SEO” services. I then changed the telephone number to the voicemail number, and eventually deleted the number that was being used. Ever since then, I have never got any scam calls for such. This is the goal I wanted to obtain. If the call is important, they can leave a message – but criminals will not leave messages.
The good thing about this number is it is pretty cheap. I didn’t get to pick the area code, but the number is $1/month which is worth the lack of area code choice. besides with unlimited domestic calling that most people have, calling an telephone number outside of your area code makes no difference, and the same as calling your next door neighbor. The voicemail box is the same box as used by my home phone line.
