I have multiple telephone numbers. Each number serves a purpose. With that being said, I might choose to have more numbers in the future. If this was to happen, it will likely be an international number, such as getting a telephone number for the UK. This will be done if I suspect that it will be used. As of now, I have more than 4 telephone numbers. This is the most basic for my needs. The numbers are as follows:
- Cellular: +1 4126829751 (VCF)
- Fax: +1 4126430926
- Home: +1 8556829751 (VCF)
- SIP: sip:17772603465@callcentric.com
- Voicemail: +1 9144491795
My cellular line is always with me. I keep it on my person at all times, and it is close to my bed as it also functions as an alarm clock. I do have apps on the phone, but I am not gawking at my phone all day long. In other words, I treat my cellular phone as a phone first and foremost, and it would do other activities as a secondary option. When I am not home, my phone also functions as a music player, and if I expect to have to go out with my notebook PC, then it might function as a modem for the notebook. This is only as needed since I am on a limited data plan.
My fax line is an e-fax service. Incoming faxes are received, and converted into a .pdf file. That file is then sent to me via email. If I needed to send a fax, I will create a .pdf file, and attach it to an email which will go to an apporpriate email address. The server will extrapolate the files, and address, and send it to the appropriate fax number.
My home phone is just that, a home phone. It is a basic Wifi phone, and not intended to be at all fancy. There is no touch screen, apps, or flashing lights. It will ring the phone, and the screen will light up showing the CNAM of the caller. That is all. When I need to make a phone call, I will dial 1+ phone number. My toll-free number displays as the calling number.
My voicemail line is just that – voicemail. When you call, you will go straight to voicemail. This is the same voicemail box as the home phone, so if a call goes to the voicemail line, or the home line – I won’t know which one unless the caller makes a distinction of which number they called. This means I have my home/voicemail box, and my cellular voicemail box to check. It’s simple, and to the point.
